Jackie Byrd, in addition to being an elder law attorney and a caregiver for her mother, is a trained public speaker who enjoys presenting informational lectures to community organizations and groups. She has addressed groups such as the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, National Institutes of Health, Geriatric Care Managers and Social Workers, local Departments of Health, caregiving conferences, and senior real estate advisers; and she has provided continuing education for nursing home employees, faith-based organizations and church groups.
Jackie draws from real life experience to shed light on the challenging issues facing seniors and those who love them. Whether it’s explaining the need for a power of attorney or researching housing options for an out-of-state aunt, Jackie’s practical and caring approach helps her listeners focus on their needs and encourages them to take action for their own benefit.
